MediaOptim Mobile is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your photos and videos never leave your device. All compression and optimization happens 100% locally on your iPhone or Android phone.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Purchase Information: When you purchase MediaOptim Pro, Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) processes your payment. We receive a confirmation of your purchase but do not have access to your payment details.
• Support Communications: If you contact us for support via email, we keep records of that correspondence to help you better.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your photos or videos
• Your photo library contents or metadata
• File names or folder structure
• Location data from your photos
• Compression history (stored locally only)
• Your contacts, messages, or other personal data

Device Permissions

MediaOptim Mobile requests the following permissions:

• Photo Library Access: Required to read and compress your photos and videos. We access your photos only when you explicitly select them for compression.
• Photo Library Write Access: Required to save compressed photos back to your library.
• Photo Library Delete Access: If you choose to replace original files with compressed versions, the app will request permission to delete the originals. This is optional - you can keep originals by enabling "Keep original" mode.

These permissions are used solely for the app's core functionality. We do not access your photos in the background or without your action.

File Deletion

MediaOptim Mobile offers two compression modes:

• Safe Mode (Default): Creates compressed copies while keeping your original files intact.
• Replace Mode: Deletes original files after creating compressed versions. This action cannot be undone. You must explicitly disable "Keep original" to use this mode.

The app always asks for your confirmation before deleting any files, and iOS will show a system prompt requiring your approval.

How Your Data Is Processed

All compression algorithms run locally using your device's processor. This means:

• Your photos never leave your phone
• The app works completely offline
• We physically cannot access your media

Analytics and Diagnostics

We may collect anonymous, non-personal usage data to improve the app:

• App version and device type (e.g., "iPhone 14")
• Operating system version
• Feature usage counts (e.g., "compression feature used")
• Crash reports (without personal data)

This data is collected anonymously and cannot be used to identify you. You can opt out of analytics in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Handles purchases and may collect data according to their privacy policies.
• Apple/Google Analytics (if enabled): Anonymous app usage statistics.

We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking services.

Data Retention

• We do not store your photos or personal data on our servers
• Purchase confirmations are retained to verify your license
• Support correspondence is retained to provide better assistance

Children's Privacy

MediaOptim Mobile is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your Rights

International Users

MediaOptim Mobile is available worldwide. Since all data processing happens locally on your device, there is no cross-border data transfer of your personal content.
