Getting Started

• Drag & drop files onto the app window, or use File > Open to add them.
• Pick a tab for what you want to do — compress images, compress PDFs, and more.
• Adjust the quality or size options, then start. Everything runs 100% locally on your Mac.

• Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG

Available formats depend on your version. MediaOptim Lite focuses on image and PDF optimization; MediaOptim Pro unlocks video, audio, and advanced storage tools.

Tips for Best Results

• For images, start with the recommended quality and lower it only if you need smaller files.
• For video, use CRF 23–28 for a good balance of quality and size; 18–22 for higher quality.
• "Overwrite original" replaces your source file — keep a copy if you're unsure.
• Use the Scanner to find large files worth optimizing.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens locally on your Mac. Your files never leave your device.

What's the difference between Lite and Pro?

MediaOptim Lite is free and handles image and PDF optimization. MediaOptim Pro adds video and audio compression, format conversion, and disk-reclaim tools.

How do I get a refund or manage my subscription?
