Remove Photo Metadata & GPS Location
Every photo you take hides data — your exact GPS location, camera model, timestamps, even your name. See what's hidden, then strip it before sharing.

Three Steps to Photo Privacy
Drop Your Photos
Drag and drop any JPG or PNG photo — or click to browse. Add as many as you want.
See What's Hidden
Instantly see GPS coordinates, camera model, timestamps, lens info, and other hidden metadata in each photo.
Download Clean Photos
One click strips ALL metadata — GPS, camera info, timestamps, everything. Download the clean version.
What's Hiding in Your Photos?
Most people don't realize how much personal information is embedded in every photo they share online.
GPS Coordinates
Your exact latitude and longitude — accurate to within meters. Enough to pinpoint your home, workplace, or vacation spot.
Camera & Phone Model
Device manufacturer, model, serial number, lens info, and software version. Can be used to fingerprint your device.
Timestamps
Exact date and time the photo was taken, when it was modified, and timezone information.
Owner & Copyright
Your name, copyright notice, and other personally identifying information stored by your camera or photo editor.
Why Not Just Use an Online Tool?
Most EXIF removers require you to upload your photos to their servers — which means a third party now has your images AND the metadata you wanted to remove.
100% Browser-Based
Your photos are processed entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded — ever. Check the network tab yourself.
See Before You Strip
Most tools just strip data blindly. We show you exactly what's hidden — GPS on a map, camera details, timestamps — so you know what you're removing.
No Limits, No Signups
No daily caps, no watermarks, no "premium tier" to unlock batch processing. Just drag, inspect, strip, download.
When Should You Remove Photo Metadata?
Any time a photo leaves your device, hidden data goes with it. Here are the most common risks.
Before Sharing on Social Media
Instagram and Facebook strip EXIF on upload, but messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram often preserve the original file with all metadata intact.
Before Selling Photos Online
If you sell stock photos or prints, buyers shouldn't see your home GPS coordinates or equipment details embedded in the file.
Before Uploading to Forums & Sites
Most forums, blogs, and file-sharing sites preserve EXIF data. Anyone who downloads your photo can see exactly where and when it was taken.
For Sensitive Locations
Photos taken at home, at your children's school, or at private locations should always have GPS data removed before sharing publicly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser using JavaScript. Your photos never leave your device — no data is sent to any server. You can verify this by checking the browser's Network tab.
What metadata does this tool remove?
ALL metadata is removed: EXIF data (GPS coordinates, camera info, timestamps), IPTC data (captions, keywords), XMP data (editing history), and ICC color profiles. The clean photo contains only pixel data.
Does removing metadata change image quality?
The image is re-encoded through the Canvas API at maximum quality (0.97 for JPEG). There may be a negligible quality difference that's invisible to the human eye. The file size may also change slightly as metadata is removed.
Does Instagram/Facebook remove metadata automatically?
Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter strip EXIF data when you upload. However, messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram), forums, file-sharing sites, and many other platforms do NOT. It's safer to strip metadata yourself before sharing anywhere.
Can I view metadata without removing it?
Yes! When you drop a photo, we immediately show all the metadata we find. You can expand each photo's details to see GPS coordinates, camera info, timestamps, and more — without stripping anything. Only click "Strip & Download" when you're ready to create a clean copy.
