How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
MediaOptim Pro purchases are tied to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android). To restore: Open the app → Go to Settings → Tap 'Restore Purchase'. Make sure you're signed in with the same account you used for the original purchase.
Why didn't my storage space decrease after compression?
After compressing, you need to delete the original photos to free up space. MediaOptim creates compressed copies—your originals remain until you choose to delete them. Go to your Recently Deleted album and empty it to fully recover space.
Will compression reduce my photo quality?
MediaOptim uses smart compression that removes unnecessary data while preserving visual quality. For most photos, you won't notice any difference. The app shows you a before/after comparison so you can decide if the quality meets your needs.
Can I undo compression?
MediaOptim creates new compressed copies of your photos—it doesn't modify your originals directly. If you haven't deleted the originals, they're still in your library. We always recommend keeping backups of irreplaceable photos before any compression.
Does the app work offline?
Yes! MediaOptim works 100% offline. All compression happens locally on your device. No internet connection is required to use any feature.
Why does the app need access to all my photos?
iOS/Android requires apps to request photo library access to read and save photos. MediaOptim only accesses photos you explicitly select for compression. We never access your photos in the background, and your photos never leave your device.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). For iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android, go to Google Play → Account → Order History. We recommend trying the free features before purchasing.
The app crashed or isn't working properly
Try these steps: 1) Force close and reopen the app, 2) Restart your device, 3) Make sure you have the latest app version, 4) Check if you have enough free storage for the app to work. If issues persist, contact support@mediaoptim.com with your device model and iOS/Android version.
Is my data safe and private?
Absolutely. Your photos never leave your device. All compression happens locally on your phone. We don't have servers storing your photos—we literally cannot see your images. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I contact support?
Email us at support@mediaoptim.com. Please include your device model (e.g., iPhone 14), operating system version, and a description of your issue. Screenshots are helpful if you're experiencing a visual bug.
Troubleshooting Tips
App is slow or freezing
- • Close other apps to free up memory
- • Restart your device
- • Try compressing fewer photos at a time
- • Make sure you have at least 1GB of free storage
Compressed photos not saving
- • Check that you've granted photo library write permission
- • Ensure you have enough free storage space
- • Try restarting the app
Purchase not recognized
